Comfort zones. We all have them. In face, we wrote a few weeks ago about what makes us feel comfy-cozy. Today we're going to step out of youe comfort zone and doing smeting you never thought you would or could.
I began to think maybe I am a quad?!?
It's like she's reading my mind, man!
So for today's prompt:
What have you done recently or would like to do that’s outside your comfort zone?
Yesterday, The Bee and I got up at the unheard of hour of way to early, picked up some friends and headed to Washington DC for a conferecne.
I was the pilot.
I am usually in the passenger seat attempting to crochet, playing with the radio, looking out of the window, fooling around with the map app cursing when it gets us lost.
Hitting the open road and baby, baby as I flew down 95 and I was loving it.
I often beg off of car trips. My car is busted, often filthy and I am just scared. The anxiety I felt when prepping for this trip was long forgotten as I hit the open road and was just on the go. In the past I have been fearful of driving. My car may breakdown, and it won't be all singing and costume changes like in Too Wong Foo. That prison movie with Lynne Moody (the one that I snuck and watched even after my mother told me not to) would flash through my mond and, really my bumper likes to fly behind my car when I do around 74 miles.
But yesterday, all of that was erased as we huit the open road. We made the trip and there is nothing that a full tank of gas, the day off of work and school and some good company won't keep me from.
My friend Janeane, her teeny bopper and of course The Bee all rode with. Janeane kept me company as my short night of sleep began to catch up to me. The kids listened or slept and we did it.
It may sound silly but I need a map.
